Scott Marchakitus - Financial Analyst behind The Fort Athletic Club
CEO of The Fort Athletic Club Scott Marchakitus laid the foundation for his career by attaining a bachelor's degree in business from Towson University and a master's degree in finance from the University of Baltimore. In 1994, he moved to New York to embark on a decades-long career on Wall Street, primarily covering telecom, media, and technology (TMT) companies. From 1994 to 2004, Scott worked as an analyst at JPMorgan and later joined Goldman Sachs, as one of the top TMT analysts according to Institutional Investor's Survey. He was a managing director at Goldman and became the head of credit research in 2012, overseeing a team of 35 high-yield and investment-grade analysts in facilitating trading and sales demands of clients until retiring in 2017. Scott currently works as a TMT analyst/portfolio manager at American Century Investments in New York.
Mr. Marchakitus lived in New York and London for the early part of his career before relocating to the Jersey shore in 2005 with his family.
At The Fort Athletic Club, Scott Marchakitus is working to create an athletic experience reminiscent of the YMCA and Four Seasons. In addition to furnishing state-of-the-art equipment, he is committed to contributing to the larger community in and around Oceanport. To this end, Mr. Marchakitus established the “Founder’s Club” membership tier at The Fort Athletic Club, which incorporates a philanthropic component to support local community organizations. Under his leadership, The Fort’s initial charitable efforts will center on helping to strengthen the community following the COVID-19 pandemic.
